# Keyboard shortcuts

> Every keyboard shortcut in Foundry, mapped to where it works.

Foundry is built to be driven from the keyboard. `Mod` below means **⌘ on Mac**, **Ctrl on Windows/Linux**.

## Composer (the input box)

| Shortcut | Action |
| - | - |
| `Enter` | Send message |
| `Shift + Enter` | New line |
| `↑` / `↓` | Navigate previous responses |
| `↑` / `↓` then `E` | Edit and regenerate the navigated reply |
| `@` | Open **Sources menu** (Web, Deep Research, Reddit, X, Academic, GitHub, connectors) |
| `/` | Open **Mode switcher** (Chat / Agent / Deep Research / Image / Video / 3D) |
| `+` | Open **Connectors** quick-toggle |
| `Mod + U` | Upload files (images, PDFs, audio) |
| `Mod + /` | Show every AI command |

## Sidebar

| Shortcut | Action |
| - | - |
| `Mod + K` | Global search across all chats |
| `Mod + Shift + O` | Open a new chat |
| `Mod + B` | Toggle the sidebar |

## Anywhere

| Shortcut | Action |
| - | - |
| `Esc` | Close the current modal or menu, or step back from edit mode |

## Tips

* The fastest path to a routed reply with a citation: type, hit `@`, pick **Web**, type more, `Enter`.
* `Mod + Shift + O` then start typing — you don't need to mouse over the sidebar button.
* `Mod + /` is the cheatsheet you can keep open while learning.
